What are your coffee servings suggestions?

When brewing coffee at home, it's important to note that the definition of a "standard cup" can vary depending on your coffee machine. Most home coffee machines consider a "standard cup" to be between 6 to 8 ounces. This variation can influence the strength and flavor of your coffee, so understanding your machine's settings and adjusting accordingly is key to achieving your preferred brew.

Here are some general guidelines to help you get the best results:

  • Light Brew: For a milder coffee, use 1 to 1.5 tablespoons of ground coffee per 6-ounce cup.
  • Medium Brew: For a balanced coffee, use 1.5 to 2 tablespoons of ground coffee per 6-8 ounce cup.
  • Strong Brew: For a bolder flavor, use 2 to 2.5 tablespoons of ground coffee per 6-8 ounce cup.

Additional Tips:

  • Know Your Machine: Check your coffee machine's manual to see what it considers a "cup" and adjust the amount of coffee grounds accordingly.
  • Customize Your Cup: If your machine allows, experiment with the water-to-coffee ratio until you find the perfect strength and flavor for your taste.
  • Measure Consistently: Use the same method to measure your coffee grounds each time to ensure consistency in every cup.

By understanding how your coffee machine defines a cup and adjusting your measurements accordingly, you can enjoy a perfectly brewed cup of coffee every time.

How Should I Store My Coffee, and How Long Does It Stay Fresh?

Open tab

Coffee beans do not have an expiration date, however, over time the coffee beans begin to lose their scents, flavors, and overall quality.

For this reason, we recommend you consume opened coffee beans within 6 months and all coffee beans 1 year from the date of packaging.

To extend the coffee bean’s life below are some storing tips:

  • Keep the beans in a dark, cool, and dry area away from any sunlight
  • Store the beans in an airtight glass, ceramic, or stainless steel container like our Drink Culture Airtight Coffee Canister!
  • If you are a daily drinker, we recommend having a larger container for most of your coffee beans and a smaller container that you will refill so that the beans are exposed to less oxygen when you open the container to make your daily cup of coffee.
